Varied Vases for Just Add Ink 481

This beautiful inspiration picture at Just Add Ink had me getting out a long-neglected set today: Varied Vases.

After embossing a piece of Sahara Sand using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder, I then rubbed it over with white pigment ink and sponged the edges with a touch of Sahara Sand ink. Both these things brought out the texture more.

I built up the background of the bouquet by stamping some of the florals in Sahara Sand and Daffodil Delight and stamping some leaves in Granny Apple Green. Then I built up the bouquet using punched leaves and tulips on various levels.

Finally, I added the stamped and punched vase on dimensionals, some Mango Melody coloured rhinestones, the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings and sponged a 'table'.

So delighted to get an Honourable Mention at Just Add Ink!

Retro Rubber 114 - Design Team Card

This week at Retro Rubber Challenge we have a colour combination for you. Isn't this such a pretty set of colours?

As always, to play along with us, you need to not only follow the challenge brief but also use a stamp that's at least a year old and give us an approximate age for it. That's because we're the challenge that wants to get you showing the older parts of your collection some ink time. 😀

I've said before that Beautiful Bouquet is a great set to have because, with so many different leaves and flower stamps, you can create so many variations. This card shows off the leaf, stem and tulip stamps. This set first appeared in the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue and is still current.

To create the background for my bed of tulips, I sponged Garden Green, Daffodil Delight and Gorgeous Grape onto some shimmery cardstock. After spritzing it lightly with water to get some mottling happening, I stamped one of the stamps from Artisan Textures in Gorgeous Grape. This useful set of background bits first appeared in 2018-19 Annual Catalogue and is also still current.

The sentiment is from yet another set from the 2018-19 Catalogue, Varied Vases, and it too is still current.

The beautifully textured white card makes use of a new embossing folder Bricks & Mortar from the current catalogue. I love the uneven texture of the bricks - just like an old wall.

Inkspire Me 367

I like it when I see a challenge and a vision of a card just pops into my head. That's what happened with this challenge at Inkspire Me.

Regular readers will know that I have had a bit of a love affair going on this week with Varied Vases.

Sunday Stamps 187

I've been playing around with Varied Vases a bit this week for two reasons. The first is that I haven't had it long and it kind of got left out once Christmas pre-order arrived, so it deserved some love. The second is that it's a featured set at this month's classes. When I saw the colour challenge at Sunday Stamps, I thought it was a great palette to use in my playing around.

The challenge was to use a minimum of three but I've used them all. For the bright red, Real Red. For the hot pink, Melon Mambo. For the light green, Mint Macaron. For the deep blue/green, Tranquil Tide and for the dark blue, Night of Navy.

I added in some of the new Chicken Wire elements. I sponged the white side in Mint Macaron before adding it, although it seemed a shame to put the silver side face down!

Perhaps difficult to see is the texture left on the white card front by the Subtle textured embossing folder. It's well named but the texture is adds is a wow in real life.
