As You See It 196 - Design Team Card

Time for a new challenge at As You See It. This week, it's colour challenge week. Who doesn't like a Granny Smith apple? Maybe that's why I'm so in love with Granny Apple Green.

The colours seemed to say 'forest' to me, so that led to Rooted in Nature, my favourite set from the 2018 Annual Catalogue. I started with a piece of DSP from the Nature's Poem DSP. Beautiful, isn't it?

After fussy cutting the log, I added in some foliage in the two greens before adding in the greeting, using Stitched Label and Layering Circle framelits.

And I couldn't resist using my favourite sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings, 'Awesome at any Age'. This set is one of the highlights of the Occasions catalogue.

Pop over to As You See It Challenge and see what the rest of the team have done, then why not join in with us. You can link up until Wednesday 27 April, 11.55 p.m. PST.

I also used the sketch at Inspire. Create for inspiration.

Freshly Made Sketches 375

I was tempted by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

Rooted in Nature was my favourite set from the 2018 Annual Catalogue so it was a pleasure to get it out for this challenge. I like the combination of Tranquil Tide, Mint Macaron and copper.

The Corrugated embossing folder makes a good background for the centre panel, adding a slightly rustic touch to the glamour of the copper foil.

The Paper Players 412 - Design Team Card

This week at The Paper Players, it's Tic Tac Toe week, which only happens when there's a fifth Sunday in the month. So settle in and enjoy LeAnne's lovely challenge!

It was hard to choose a line to play but I've gone straight across the top: leaves, patterned paper, green.

I love this particular pattern from Nature's Poem DSP... I've only got enough left for one more card.
I like the way the Burlap ribbon echoes the texture in the very background of the patterned paper. The leaves are stamped in Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaron, mounted onto Crumb Cake and popped up on dimensionals.

I also took inspiration for this card from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I'd love to see what you do with LeAnne's Tic Tac Toe. Have a look at what the rest of the team have done at The Paper Players but before you join up, here's a reminder of our few rules.
  1. Create a new paper project.
  2. Upload your project to your blog with a link back to The Paper Players.
  3. Provide a direct link to your blog post for your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than FOUR challenges (including ours).
  5. Enjoy!
Please take note of these few rules as entries that do not comply will be deleted from the gallery.

AAA Cards 123

It's been a while since I played at AAA Card Challenge, even though there are always lovely challenges. There just never seems to be enough time!

I've been playing around with baby wipes and re-inkers a bit this week as we're using that technique in this month's classes. After taking inspiration from this sketch, this is where is ended up.

The re-inkers that I used were Bermuda Bay, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight. After stamping the leaves through a circular mask, I sponged lightly around the edges in Bermuda Bay. I cut one extra leaf and popped it up, ever so slightly breaking frame.

For the sentiment, I used the label die from Petals & More but shortened it so that the words were a snugger fit and the frame fitted inside the circle.
