Quiet Meadow for The Paper Players 635

It's a quiet Easter Monday and, once again, I'm procrastinating about cleaning out the craft room by taking up another challenge. This time, it's the colour challenge at The Paper Players.

I had a made up trellis base on my desk, a spare made when I was experimenting with that style of card after seeing them pop up on the internet in the last month or so. I'd already embossed it with the Timber 3D embossing folder to make it look more like a trellis. It seemed too good to waste so I got out my neglected Quiet Meadow bundle.

From the base, it was a simple matter to add in some So Saffron splatters and some Sahara Sand lettering. Both these colour are retiring at the end of the month, so order quickly if they're favourites of yours. 

The frond is die-cut from Soft Sea Foam, while the flowers were cut in Basic White and sponged with Soft Sea Foam and Blushing Bride (another impending retiree colour).

The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand and popped up on dimensionals. Finally, three Iridescent Rhinestones finished it all off. Quick and easy. 😀

Quiet Meadow for Colour INKspiration 120

It's time for a new challenge at Colour INKspiration. I especially hope that you enjoy this one, since I had the privilege of choosing the colours. 

If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. The guest designer this challenge is Sharon Dalton.

If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. - for example Night of Navy for Misty Moonlight. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends.

I used the Quiet Meadow bundle for this card - so pleased it is carrying over into the new catalogue!

This combo included my two favourite colours from the retiring 2020-2022 In Colors: Just Jade and Night of Navy. As the colours were mostly strong, I wanted to tame them a little so opted for sponging some of them onto Basic White card. Since Soft Sea Foam is already a subtle colour, I die cut that from the card.

The card front is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder, another thing I'm delighted to see carry over.

I've used some Polished Pink jewels from the 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels and some Misty Moonlight and Silver twin from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo. Sadly, by the time this challenge ends, these items will have retired - so stock up now in the Last Chance Sale, while you still can!

Quiet Meadow for Freshly Made Sketches 521

I've used the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches as inspiration to my continuing exploration of the Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Layering Masks.

I started by using one of the masks to add a soft vertical background in Soft Sea Foam. Then I added a leafy die cut, cut from Soft Sea Foam. The two flowers were cut in Basic White and the petals sponged with Blushing Bride.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray and die cut using the lovely label from the Meadow dies. I've cut it again in Blushing Bride to create an off-set shadow.

A trio of metallic pearls finished off the card.

It's already time for a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! The crew are loving seeing the wonderful entries that are rolling in. We can't wait to see what you make of these colours, chosen by Crew Member, Vicki Boucher. Vicki deserves a big round of applause as it was announced at the On-line On Stage that she is part of the 2022 Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team. This is a huge honour and huge opportunity for her and I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

The very pretty graphic that Vicki chose did lead me to think of florals but it was a trickier combination than I first thought. I ended up back with Quiet Meadow.

Originally, I put the flower panel on a white embossed background but it just didn't seem right. I hit on the idea of using some subtle Gray Granite DSP instead. I like it - it's sombre enough for a sympathy card without being too dark.

I used some Elegant Faceted Gems to finish off. The Ornate Layers die is lovely - elegant without being over the top.
