Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop - Flowers for Every Season

The Artisan Team have had the pleasure of working with the gorgeous Flowers for Every Season suite for this hop. This mega-suite is full of floral goodness. The Jar of Flowers stamp set and punch, and the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle are just the beginning. There's also a sumptuous set of 6"x6" DSP, a three-ribbon combo, the Flowers for Every Season gems and the most adorable mason jar shaker domes.

The stamp sets can be used by themselves or can be combined. The DSP utilises the new In-Colours, so is rich and vibrant. Even better, there is a set of co-ordinating Memories&More cards to give more scope with this suite.

I've made three projects: one using just the Jar of Flowers bundle, one using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle and one combining them. 

Jar of Flowers

For this card, I chose one of the flower bunches and embossed it in white on Whisper White cardstock. Then I sponged it with Magenta Madness in the area of the flowers and Just Jade in the area of the leaves.

There are four bunches in the stamp set to choose from, one for each season and I've used the summer roses.

After layering it up, I embossed a jar stamp onto vellum and cut it out using the jar punch. The sentiment comes from one of the Memories&More cards. I cut out some of the words from a journalling card and popped them up on mini-dimensionals. To finish off, I added a trio of Flowers for Every Season gems. They come in a mix of clear and Just Jade.

Celebrate Sunflowers

I'm such  a soft-touch when it comes to intricate dies. The Sunflowers dies are just magnificent. In addition to dies to cut the stamped images, there are lacy leaves and a lacy sunflower that are real showstoppers.  I wanted to make them the stars of this project.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut sunflowers and leaves from it, keeping them pleasingly spaced on the page. Then I ran the piece through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder - this embossing folder is already a favourite of mine!

I layered this piece of Whisper White over a pretty, summery floral from the Flowers for Every Season DSP stack and then carefully replaced the die cuts back in where they had been cut from. The Bumble Bee centres are cut with another die from the set. 

To create the sentiment, I used sponge daubers to apply ink to the stamp. I used Magenta Madness for the top part and Just Jade for the bottom. Where they overlap, you get a more purple colour. Then I cut it out with the Paper Trimmer but fussy cutting around the loops of script.

This is mounted on dimensionals over a piece of Whisper White faux linen ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo pack. Beautiful ribbon, isn't it?

Jar of Flowers and Celebrate Sunflowers

This card utilises both sets. I started with a Just Jade card base and stamped over the edge and bottom with the bunch of sunflowers, from Jar of Flowers, in Just Jade ink. This is the same stamp that I've used to stamp the corner of the sentiment, but this time in Bumble Bee ink.

Before running the Whisper White card front through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder, I stamped the striped 'table' in Magenta Madness.

The small sunflowers from Celebrate Sunflowers were stamped in Saddle Brown Stazon  onto Fluid 100 Watercolour paper, then coloured with ink and water painter. They were die cut out, along with some single leaves I'd stamped and inked too.

The stems of foliage were die-cut in Whisper White and are from the Sunflowers die set. I sponged them in Just Jade to give them a softer look. 

I arranged them all in a jar cut using the Jar punch. I stamped off the stems so that they'd look like they were in water. Finally, I added a few of the Just Jade gems from the Flowers for Every Season gems.

As you can see, while each bundle works well by itself, there's so much more to be gained from having them both.

On Stage Auckland 2 Forever Lovely

As well as presenting Forever Lovely at On Stage Auckland, I also had a board to display other samples for people to look at. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so here are some of the other ways you can use Forever Lovely, whether you are an avid, casual or beginning crafter.

The edgelit in the Forever Flowers die set matches that pretty floral fretwork spray, so it was just begging me to use in with an acetate window.

Inlaying die cuts can be a demanding task but the new Take Your Pick tool made manipulating those tiny pieces easy-peasy.

Something less demanding is to stamp the two-step spray twice, with a 180 degree rotation. The flowers have a coat of clear Wink of Stella that really sets them twinkling when they catch the light. If you're not a Valentine's day person, grab out Itty Bitty Greetings and change it to what you want: You're Engaged, Happy Anniversary, Many Thanks... you choose.

For something really quick and easy, how about these lunchbox love notes or briefcase billet-doux? That little distinKtive heart cluster is a quick, sweet background to any sentiment.
