Good Morning Magnolia for CTS371

I was taken with the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch this week.

The large central image immediately brought to mind the stunning large image from Good Morning Magnolia, a set I love but haven't used much lately. I gold embossed it on Fluid100 Watercolour paper then coloured it using Aqua Painters and inks.

The background in the sketch was patterned, so I partially embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Scripty Folder (another favourite) before adding some splatter stamping from Artisan Textures. (Another favourite and one that is retiring at the end of the month.)

I added two strips of DSP on the unembossed top and bottom of the Whisper White panel.

To finish off, I added a few twists of Gold Metallic Thread (retired) and some 2019-21 In-Colour Faceted Dots.

CAS(E) This Sketch 311

I was excited to see the very versatile sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.

It's funny the things you think of in the middle of the night but I had this idea that Dandelion Wishes might look nice on the old shaving foam marble background. Also funny how ideas that make sense at 2 a.m. don't always easily translate into reality!
I got there in the end though...

I used a mix of Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam re-inkers in the shaving foam.

The Soft Sea Foam front has been embossed with the Subtles embossing folder for a spot of texture.

The pearls have been subtly coloured with the dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blend.

The die-cut 'thanks' from Well Written dies has been layered and off-set to give a slight shadow.

It's not quite the 2 a.m. plan but I'm happy with how it turned out.
