Colour Inkspiration 38 - Guest Designer

I was so delighted to be chosen the winner at Colour INKspiration for Challenge 36. This challenge attracts such wonderful entries from talented card makers all around the world. If you've never played there, you can find them here on Facebook. (They are a Facebook only challenge.)

With the win came the opportunity to guest design for the current challenge and it's an honour to be among such fabulous company and part of this blog hop. One of the many things I love about this challenge are the gorgeous graphics. They make even the most unlikely combinations seems utterly irresistible!

As you see, this one is no exception: Powder Pink, Grey Granite, Berry Burst plus white and black. How wonderful is that for a winter colour palette?

For this challenge, I turned to a set that I've had since 2017 and haven't used as much as I should have given how lovely it is and that is Timeless Textures. I've paired it up with a totally new set from this year's catalogue, Itty Bitty Greetings. With a special birthday in mind, I've made a matching gift box which is just perfect for a necklace, a pair of earrings or other small but exquisite gift.

In the close up of the card, you can see the layers of stamping built up from Timeless Textures, the washi tape and then the die cuts from Eastern Medallions framelits with a bit of help from Petals & More thinlits and the Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes framelits.

The sweet wee box is from Pootles. It is her triangular 5cm x 5cm box but decorated my way to match the card. It's small but sweet and best of all, you can get two out of one sheet of A4 cardstock.

The rest of the team will have inspiration aplenty for you as you continue the hop along. Next up is the amazing Monique who will have something pretty in pink for you to enjoy.

Once you've had a chance to enjoy the whole hop, why not join in? Post a photo of your creation on the wall at Colour Inkspiration.

The Paper Players 402 - Design Team Card

What a whirlwind it's been at The Paper Players over the last month. First we had our stupendous two week long 400th challenge celebrations. So many glorious entries! Did you go back and check the post on 18 July to see whether you'd picked up any prizes? Check to make sure because if you don't claim it, it will go to someone else....

Then this last week the Linky gremlins struck us and for some of the week, people couldn't link up. Once it was fixed, we extended the deadline by 24 hours and we hope that if you wanted to enter Joanne's super colour challenge that you did get the chance. We're very sorry if you did miss out last week but here's hoping it's plain sailing this week.

It's CAS week this week - Clean and Simple - paired up with a challenge from Nance to use negative space on your card.

That's quite a challenge since to use negative space you're already pretty much committed to at least one layer but you can still preserve lots of white space in the design. At least, that's what I hope I achieved with this...

Isn't that balloon die from Up and Away thinlits just fabulous?

Inspiration for this card also came from the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

We'd love to have you join us at The Paper Players this week - and fingers crossed there are no more computer gremlins in our way! Pop over and see what the rest of the team have come up with then get your mojo going and join in.

Here's a quick reminder of the challenge rules.
  1. Create a new paper project.
  2. Upload your project to your blog with a link back to The Paper Players.
  3. Provide a direct link to your blog post for your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than FOUR challenges (including ours).
  5. Enjoy!
Please take note of these few rules as entries that do not comply will be deleted from the gallery.

Retro Rubber 91 - Design Team Card

This week at Retro Rubber Challenge we have a sketch from our own Claire Grantham of Ham'n'Mule Designs. Isn't it full of delightful possibilities?

This being Retro Rubber Challenge, your only restriction is that you must use at least one stamp older than a year and to tell us an approximate age of that stamp. This is important if you want to be considered for our Top Picks. Also, don't link it up to more than ten challenges in total.

I'd been playing around with some shaving foam backgrounds which were still sitting around on my desk. I used a portion of one of them for the background then stamped over it with the tiny stamen stamps from Colourful Seasons, which was released in the 2017 Stampin' Up catalogue. I thought they looked like seed heads blowing in the wind. The sentiment is from the same set. The wee edging stamp was a Saleabration item in 2017, Delicate Details.

These gorgeous leaves are from the coordinating die set, Seasonal Layers. Released more than a year ago, Colourful Seasons and Seasonal Layers are both still current products although they are no longer available as a bundle.

We'd love to see what you do with the sketch. You can join up with us until 27 July. Why not pop over to Retro Rubber Challenge and see what the rest of the team have done with it to get your ideas flowing?
