Blessings of Home for AYSI 272

Time for a new challenge at As You See It and this week, we're back to the start of our challenge rotation with a sketch by Jane.

I've used the Blessings of Home bundle which is carrying over into the new catalogue.  The strips on the sketch reminded me of the floating strip technique, which I've not used in a while. It's hard to see in the photo but the strips are floating about the textured surface of the card.

If you would like to know how I made this, and maybe do your own version, you can watch the tutorial from my YouTube channel here.

You can see what the rest of the team have done, and link up your entry, at the As You See It Challenge site. You can play along with us until Wednesday 20 April.

If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. Bron's Birthday Bash Blog Hop1

Welcome to Bron's Birthday Bash Blog Hop!

We're a group of stamping friends that are celebrating Bron's 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! We have an inspiration pic for tonight's hop.

Bronwyn Eastley of Addinktive Designs does the MOST amazing 3D creations and is one lovely lady. I was delighted to be invited to join Bronwyn's big birthday celebrations.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bronwyn at Auckland On Stage a few years ago and watched her do a fabulous presentation. So it's great to help her celebrate her big 60 with a blog hop.

Here's the  great inspiration picture she gave us to work with.

Now, I love the beach so I took my inspiration from the starfish, the sand, the seashell and the pinks and greys in the picture.

I tried to keep to the lovely subtle colours of the inspiration picture but somehow, Coastal Cabana just kept inserting itself into the picture! In turn, that required a stronger pink!

I've used the Friends are like Seashells set along with the bundled dies and the Seashells embossing folder.

I used the White Frayed ribbon under the sentiment to mimic the fringe on the beach mat in the picture. The wood grain DSP is from Heart & Home.

Wishing you a fantastic birthday, Bronwyn!

Next up is the wonderful Leonie Stuart

Flowering Fields for AYSI

Time flys by quickly and it's already time for a new challenge at As You See It. This week, it's theme week - Spring Flowers. Great for the Northern Hemisphere and if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, like me, then it gives us something to look forward to as autumn makes its presence felt more keenly.

My cards this week are simple and straightforward, although very springlike.

Confession time: in my notebook, I'd written down that it was Spring Flowers, speed challenge. I was so happy to have made the Poppy Parade/Pool Party tulip card in 8 minutes 13 seconds.

I so enjoyed it that I decided to use the Flowering Fields DSP to make a couple more to show my class attendees this week and ended up with this cheerful trio.

I'm so glad I did because when I went to post to the team site,  I realised it wasn't a speed challenge at all! I'd have felt that I'd cheated a bit if all I'd offered you was the first card alone. Happily, the trio shows off just how fabulous this DSP is. So fabulous that I, who seldom uses DSP, bought the Flowering Fields DSP from the January-June Mini and nothing else at all from that suite!

You can see what the rest of the Design Team have done with this recipe and link up your own entry at the As You See It Challenge site.
