Wasn't Stef's sketch last week a lot of fun! Once again, there were just so many lovely creations in the gallery. It was a pleasure to look at them all.
This week, LeAnne has given us a very timely theme challenge: 'Be a Deer'.
My surprise like of the current catalogue is actually the Reindeer Fun bundle. I wasn't sure I'd like it but I bought it because it was the featured suite of the Creativity Abounds October Virtual Stamp Camp and I needed to have it to create projects for the Camp. As it turned out, I grew to really love it.
I think it was the bright busy-ness of the DSP that had given me some reservations about it - but I even grew to like that!
For this card, I went soft and gentle. Even Christmas red and green has evolved into Soft Sea Foam and Pretty in Pink.
I partially embossed the card front with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder before attaching it to the Soft Sea Foam mat.
Then it was a simple matter to attach the deer on dimensionals and to stamp the Pretty in Pink sentiment. Slightly less simple was cutting the sentiment with one of the Stylish Shapes banners, since I had to extend it to be long enough. It only took two goes! 😁
The finishing touch was three Pretty in Pink shimmer gems.- Create a new paper-craft project specifically for this challenge.
- Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
- Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
- Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL, including ours
- Have fun, and thank you for playing with us!
This is just the cutest....the green and pink make for such a sweet-feeling Christmas vibe. That baby deer has the cutest look on her face. Love the way you created the background...the trees are perfect for this little scene! Thanks for rocking my theme this week!
ReplyDeleteJan, this is gorgeous! I love the frame of tree leaves to showcase the pretty little deer. The plaid embossing adds so much detail and this color combo is fabulous! This card is a keeper!
ReplyDeleteJan, those two deer remind me of the viewings of the doe and her two fawns we saw when we moved into our new home. I love how you nestled them in that fabulous die cut and all that texture is just gorgeous. Fabulous card.

What a precious card, Jan! The Soft Sea Foam and Pretty in Pink color scheme adds to the sweetness. I love the plaid embossing. The die cut aperture, with the designer paper peeking through, is the perfect backdrop the adorable deer. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteJan... another amazingly cute deer! I am so loving these retro deer...just adorable. Your coloring is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great to use non-traditional colors and the soft palette that you used works so beautifully with the sweet scene you've created, Jan! The treed circle die cut in the background panel is the perfect setting for those darling deer and I really like the font for the Merry Christmas with the elegant swirls on the R and S. A wonderful Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you managed to soften the brightness of this sweet with you colour choices Jan - your sweet deer pair is adorable! Beautifully framed with the pine aperture and those pink enamel dots the perfect finishing touch!
