This week Jaydee is our hostess and she's given us this gorgeous sketch to inspire us. I do love a sketch, don't you? Thank you to everyone who played along with our Signs of Winter CAS challenge last week. A great gallery for us to choose from, as usual!
Sometimes when I get a new set, I just see possibilities for it in everything. Shell Collecting has been like that for me this week. I love the scallop shell in the set and thought that would be just right for the four shapes in the sketch. Everything else just followed naturally.
The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake and is from Sweet Jar. It's cut with one of the banners from Stylish Shapes. The shadow is in Pool Party and I also added a Linen Thread bow.
The embellishments are the pink toned Pearlised Faceted Circles.
How do you see Jaydee's sketch? You can see what the design team have done and link up your own entry at The Paper Players page.

Oh my gosh, Jan! What a lovely card! The Crumb Cake and Petal Pink shells look beautiful against the fabulous custom stamped backdrop. And speaking of your stamped background, I have only one word to say, "WOW"! LOVE it! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this! The vellum over the background gives such a nice soft effect, and the coloring on your shells is so warm and inviting! Love the sentiment treatment as well!
ReplyDeleteJan, fabulous card. I love the vellum over the background. It adds a wonderful touch of softness and dreaminess. You are right, the scallop shells with their soft colors was the perfect element for the sketch. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week

Another fun shell card, Jan! Love the colors on the fussy-cut shells and the background with the vellum overlay is so much fun. I already have several shell stamp sets so I'm trying hard to resist this one, though you're making that ever more difficult! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJan, this is such a lovely card! The shells are pretty with the subtle addition of the pinks and the vellum layer did its job, so that the background is visible but not too busy. Love this!
ReplyDeleteJan, your beach card made me long for warmer days. I love the beach and love to pick up seashells. The colors you used are just perfect. The vellum overlay adds so much softness! Beautiful card for this sketch! Have the best weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou are rocking these shells Jan - this is another great seashore-inspired make! I love the softness the vellum adds to the background and those scalloped shells are coloured perfectly. Gorgeous!
