The Paper Players 387 - Design Team Card

This week at The Paper Players, Laurie has a musical theme challenge for us. Once again, last week's gallery was amazing and you showed us some fabulous interpretations of Claire's sketch.

I got out of my comfort zone for this challenge, opting for a more grungy look than normal. Blame the Brusho! I had an experimental piece of Brusho on my desk and the card grew around it. Brusho seems to work like that. It is unpredictable in what it does so you end up looking at it and deciding which colours will work well with the result. I started off with the Mossy Green and Gamboge powders but have ended up working with Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant.

After choosing which plain colours I'd use, I built up a cluster of embellishments using some dies and stamps and tape.

Where will Laurie's Music theme take you? We'd love to see what you do.

Here's a reminder of the rules.
  1. Create a NEW paper-craft project specifically for this challenge.
  2. Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
  3. Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
  4. Please link your card to no more than four challenges, total. Entries linked to more than 4 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification.
  5. Have fun!

  6. This is lovely Jan - that background is awesome! So far, every Brusho experiment I've done has ended up in the dustbin in a grungy mess. I love your collection of bits and pieces and the addition of the colour to the edges of your musical heart adds great definition. A great card!

  7. I loooove this! And yes, Brushos are a bit unpredictable! That's why they're still sitting in their little containers on my shelf....for one this, Moss Green is definitely NOT green in my book (or palette)! But still, I love what you did with it, especially with the little hearts, diecuts and definitely-perfect SENTIMENT!! You rock!

  8. Another beautiful card with so much interest and texture! Your background is perfect. I'm with Joanne...all of my Brusho backgrounds have ended up in the waste bin too. I think it might be a control issue :) I hope you're having a great week ~ Hugs, Annie

  9. This is a wonderful card-- very hip, and could go to either a male or female. I use Color Bursts, but they operate the same way: I have stacks of backgrounds that sort of wait patiently to be used!
