Music is in the silence

This week's Less is More challenge 190 was one I really wanted to do: "Face the music and dance" because I have a son at university studying music. I like to have a stash of music-related cards to have on hand for him: special occasions or 'just because' and it's the latter that this one falls into.

Ingredients
Paper: Echo Park Botanical Ballad, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Stamps and Ink: Music Background stamp, Papillon Potpourri, Black ink, Cherry Cobbler ink
Other: Virtuoso music die, Glitter music sticker from stash, small circle punch from itty bitty punches to shape the corner of the sentiment, Butterfly punch, dimensionals, Mozart quote found and printed using Word, black rhinestones.

  1. This is a beautiful musical score image and a stunning sentiment.
We do tend to prefer more 'white space' at Less is more but thanks so much for sharing and taking part.

  2. Jan what an absolutely gorgeous musical card.
As Sarah said we like to have some 'white space' on our cards, it's a bit like your brilliant sentiment on here - the white space (doesn't need to be white!) highlights and showcases your creation.
Thank you so much for joining us this week at Less is More

  3. Thanks for your lovely comments about this card Sarah and Anne. It's odd but usually I love white space in my cards and layouts and this one started out to be like that. But as it went along, it just grew a life of its own and ended up this way. Not unhappy with it, but should have stopped to think about it before posting to your wonderful challenge page. Sorry. :-)

  4. I know what you mean about getting swept along by a design Jan...it's super but rather heavily layered as the others have mentioned. I'm sure it will be really well received however!
    Thanks so much
